Pulse radar sensors are a type of non-contact level measurement instrument used in a variety of industrial, commercial, and laboratory applications. These devices measure the distance from the sensor to the liquid or solid, as well as the temperature and/or pressure. The signal is then transmitted to a process controller, which then produces a control signal. This signal can be used to control pumps, valves, and other processes, or to provide feedback to the process operator. Pulse radar sensors are particularly useful in hazardous and corrosive environments, where traditional contact level sensors may be impractical or unsafe. Omega Engineering offers non-contact pulse radar level transmitters available in general purpose and intrinsically safe models for solids with light, medium, and heavy dust.
